Yoga Iyengar

This method of Yoga follows the teachings of BKS Iyengar(1918-2014), who is considered one of the most important and influential contemporary teaches.

Through the continuous integral attention, the asanas are performed with precision giving special importance to the external alignment of the body, as well as the correct form and direction. The most subtle aspects of the practice are presented as the mature practitioner manages to develop sensitivity and awareness.

I started practicing yoga in 2005, and I have dedicated my life to learning and teaching this practice ever since. I am a certified Iyengar yoga teacher at the Junior Intermediate II level and continue to develop my knowledge and skills learning from Senior teachers from different countries, but mainly from my teacher in Mexico, Chantal Gomez Jauffred. In 2016 I had the opportunity to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Puna, India for two months, learning from Geeta, Prashant and Abhijata Iyengar.

My story with yoga

While the teacher was talking to us about breathing and chanting “om”, I thought: what am I doing here?! The first pose was downward facing dog.
