CLASSES
Yoga Iyengar level 1:
This class is for students who are new to yoga or have never practiced the Iyengar method. This class sets the foundation of the asana practice making it a progressive safe method, this class will focus on standing poses, simple twists and forward bends. These poses provide vigor, discipline, mental and emotional stability, strength and mobility. Once a month, a simple restorative sequence is taught. The progress of each student is individual due to many factors including consistency and concentration throughout the practice, however many students hold this level for 18 to 24 months.
Yoga Iyengar Level 1.5:
This class is for more mature students, where inverted poses and backbends are introduced, the work on the poses learned at the previous level is refined by exploring more subtle interactions. The first Pranayama (breathing techniques) stages are also introduced in the supine pose, as the intellect and sensitivity of the practitioners is refined and is ready to observe the mind and the breath with passivity and alertness.
Health restorative yoga
This class is for students who have an injury or particular condition and need more help to explore asanas for a longer period of time. The class focuses on postures that relax the mind and body, and poses that strengthen vulnerable body parts such as neck, back, knees etc. This class is also suitable during pregnancy and for any student who wants a less demanding class due to menstruation, physical or mental exhaustion, older age etc.
